The first week in August was national breastfeeding awareness week, and I really wanted to offer something for nursing Mom’s that would allow them to have the intimate memories of nursing their babies documented forever. I was fortunate enough to be able to nurse all 3 of my boys, and the memories still bring such joy to me. I just wish I had photos that reflected the connection I felt with them during that special time. I wanted to be able to give some of my clients that. My schedule was already fully booked when I decided to offer just a limited number of these during that week, but it was very important to me to make the time. It has also been a main goal of mine this year to push myself creatively, shoot things I may have never considered, look at everything in as many different perspectives as I could, and REALLY capture emotional connections and feelings. So that was most definitely the approach I took with these nursing sessions. I really love what we captured, and I sense the emotions in all of these photos, so I hope that is what everyone else sees as well. I want to also extend a huge thanks to the Moms who trusted me to do this, were completely candid and real, and allowed me full discretion on posting these images.
